Ski

This year ski manufacturers continue their never-ending quest to create faster, lighter and more responsive skis. As always, we have checked out all the new equipment and are ready to help you find skis that will help you make the most of your time on the mountain. When helping you choose your skis, our expert staff will take into account your ability level and skiing style, as well as the snow conditions where you plan to ski. Whether you are a hard-core powder hound or a beginner trying to take your skiing to the next level, we have a ski for you. And we haven't forgotten the ladies - we have skis designed specifically for women. Lighter and softer flexing, these skis work with a woman's biomechanics to deliver better performance.

Some of the best skis we've seen are all-mountain models designed to handle any conditions Mother Nature throws your way. These skis perform equally well whether you are cruising on groomed slopes, busting through crud, or floating through deep powder. These skis are available in a variety of widths and side cuts to suit your individual needs, but what they have in common is stability at speed, excellent carving ability in firmer conditions, and enough surface area to keep you afloat off piste.

The best of this year's crop of powder skis are fat enough to float through powder, but not so wide as to make them unwieldy on groomed slopes or even in the bumps. If you are one of those folks who call in sick to work after every snow storm, then these powder skis will keep your adrenaline flowing. But even better, they have the versatility to handle a variety of conditions when the weather doesn't dump loads of fresh snow the day before you hit the slopes. For skiers who head straight to the terrain park, we also have some great new twin tipped skis guaranteed to bring out your inner hot dog. (For the uninitiated, twin tipped skis have rounded tips front and back so they are equally at home skiing forward or backward.) This year many feature a little extra width, making them equally at home in the backcountry as on the half-pipe. If you want to know how to choose your skis in details please refer to the following article - How To Choose Skis

Skis today are more high tech than ever, so the importance of having the right ski-binding package has grown increasingly important. You'll find that most now offer integrated ski/binding systems designed to take full advantage of the performance characteristics of both components. That's good news, because these integrated systems make shopping for the right ski/binding combination incredibly simple.

That's why we offer variery of top brands including:

Boots

Ski boots are arguably your most important equipment investment. And it's not just about comfort – though after a long day of skiing, you will appreciate properly fitted boots. The principle reason to invest in good ski boots is that you use them to control your skis. Having the right boots, with the right fit, can help you take your skiing to the next level. Much like Goldilocks searching for the right porridge, you need ski boots that are neither too loose nor too tight, but that fit just right. Loose boots let your foot rotate as you try to turn, so you will not be able to steer the ski efficiently. Boots that are too tight can pinch and bind, making your life miserable and distracting you from the feedback you get from your skis. Tight boots can also restrict blood flow, resulting in cold feet.

Boots that fit right should be snug in the heel and toe, but not feel constricting. Depending on your ability level, they should be stiff enough to transmit energy to the ski but still provide a comfortable fit. More advanced skiers will benefit from a snugger, stiffer boot that will offer them more precise control, while beginners will be more comfortable with a softer flex in a slightly roomier boot. If you want to know how to choose your boots in detail you can read it here - How To Choose Ski Boots

Boot fitting is a science, and our expert boot fitters are the Einsteins of the profession. Whatever your foot size or foot shape, they have the training and experience necessary to make sure you get a proper fitting boot that's suited to your ability level.

Clothing

LARGEST CLOTHING AND ACCESSORY SHOP IN THE AREA! We offer the best selection of quality name brand winter apparel and accessories. All of your winter clothing needs plus t-shirts, caps, souvenirs, and more in one convenient location.

The technical gear you need for your alpine adventures doesn't always attach to your feet. You go skiing or boarding to have fun, and nothing ruins a good time like being cold and wet. So we're here to make sure you get set up with the latest outerwear to keep you warm and dry, not to mention looking great.A layered approach is your best bet to make sure you are prepared for the variable conditions you may encounter. Start with a warm, waterproof jacket or hard shell. Modern insulating materials such as Primaloft, Thermolite and Thinsulate are perfect for creating light weight, easy-to-wear jackets built to keep you warm on even the coldest days. You have lots of choices this year with features like sealed seams to lock out moisture, removable fleece liners, zip-off hoods, powder skirts, breathable fabrics, and plenty of storage space. For your ski pants, you will want many of same properties as in your jacket – flexibility for easy movement, breathable fabrics for comfort and snow-proof construction. Also look for reinforced fabrics and padding where it counts, around the knees, cuffs and backside. Your jacket or hard shell may come with an integrated soft shell or mid layer for insulation. If not, choose one that is comfortable and that allows unrestricted movement within your hard shell. Since this soft shell may be all you need on a spring day, look for wind resistant, moisture-wicking fabrics that close securely at the wrist and collar. If you need exact tips how to choose clothing please refer to the following article - How To Choose Clothing.

We also carry only the best footwear available and put them to the test everyday. We are very selective about what we carry and will only sell footwear that we would wear ourselves. Our staff can recommend the shoe that is best for your needs and will take the time to get the right fit for your foot.

We also sell excellent technical socks designed to keep your feet cool and dry during the summer and warm and dry during the winter.

More and more skis today come with integrated bindings. The bottom line is that these packages work great for most skiers. Most – but not all. For true gear heads and other advanced skiers with specific performance requirements, we offer a complete lineup of the latest bindings. Binding technology continues to evolve with a focus on creating safer, more reliable release mechanisms. These efforts have been hugely successful, and today's bindings are safer than ever. But in addition to playing a crucial safety role, bindings are also a very important part of the performance picture. We can help you choose bindings to improve retention, maximize power transfer, or just smooth out your ride. We are also pleased to say that many more manufacturers are providing bindings designed specifically for women. You can count on us to help you find a binding that works for your skiing style, no matter how demanding. If you want to know how to choose the best ski bindings click here - How To Choose Ski Bindings or for snowboard bindings - How To Choose Snowboard Bindings.

Don't overlook head protection. Investing in a helmet not only makes skiing safer, it also is a smart way to conserve warmth, too. There are many new lightweight models with improved ventilation for added comfort. Some helmets even have built in audio systems so you can groove as you schuss down the slopes.

Waxing and caring for your skis are basic skiing fundamentals. Waxing skis is done for performance on the snow. You will also maintain and care for your skis not only to improve performance, but also to ensure a long ski life. We recommend following high quality wax for your skis.

Snowboard

It's another great year for riders as boards just continue to get better. Boards are lighter than ever and feature some amazing graphics to boot. We've got the latest and best for your riding enjoyment. Depending on how and where you want to ride, we can set you up with just the right board for your needs.

When choosing a board, we'll help you find a model that fits your foot size, height and weight. These factors will help determine the board's waist width, length and flex. Your riding preferences also make a difference. If you plan to spend a lot of time in a half-pipe, then a slightly shorter board should work better for you. On the other hand, if you plan on carving through the steep and deep, a slightly longer board is your best bet.

The Freeride or All Mountain category remains the most popular. These boards are a great choice because of their versatility. They may not carve as well as an alpine board or have the agility of a freestyle board, but they deliver very respectable performance pretty much anywhere you want to go.

Freestyle boards are the big news this year as manufacturers have come out with some excellent new models. Shorter, lighter and with softer flex than freeride or carving boards, these boards are built for the park and half-pipe. Plus, since freestyle boards turn easily and are very forgiving, they make an excellent choice for beginners. Their main drawback is that they don't carve as well and are not as stable at high speeds. If you want to know how to choose the best snowboard for you please refer to the following article - How To Choose Snowboard.

But if high speed carving is what you’re after, we’ve got you covered. Carving or Alpine boards, which are stiffer, longer and more narrow than other designs, are built for speed. If your idea of a good time is charging through fresh powder or carving long, deep turns on a groomed run, then these boards are for you.

If you are interested in cross-country skis we also offer a variety of selection in top brands.
