The RX-9 returns for '06-'07 with only minor cosmetic changes. I skied this ski extensively during the year and I find last years' comments still apply. The Fischer RX-9 is a ski with unlimited potential. It skis with almost the precision of a racing ski yet it is not too stiff or overly demanding. After many test days, I found no speed uncomfortable, no snow too hard, and no crust too nasty. I also found some surprising facility in some off trail situations and some shallow crud. The RX-9 is a ski that loves high speed G.S. turns yet with a little effort, will make little swivels under the foot too. This is maybe not the best tool for moguls and it works best when the skier knows where to stand and how to do his job. I ski with a fairly new age style (high edge angle) and love this ski. This is also however, an outstanding choice for the old school expert. I like the 175 cm length in this model, but could ski it in a 170 if I wanted quicker turns.
Fischer Binding systems:
All Fischer skis use some variation of the Tyrolia Railflex plate system. This system uses a light, dovetailed rail that is integrated onto the ski. The binding slides onto the rail and attaches with one central screw. This is a very effective free flex system and it also allows the skier to easily "tune" the performance of the ski. By unscrewing the one central screw, you can slide the entire system fore and aft on the ski without affecting the boot/binding adjustment. I played with this system extensively over the season and found that the forward position really makes the ski turn quicker while the aft position makes the ski more stable and allows a little more tip float in powder. The central position of course is best for the skier that doesn't want to "mess with things"

The Dale Story:
Dale is a small village in Western Norway surrounded by towering mountains. In 1879, Peter Jebsen saw the possibilities provided by the village's natural waterfall on the Dale River and founded a textile mill, later know as "Dale of Norway". Ever since 1879, Dale of Norway has been producing high quality products. Today they are the largest manufacturer of traditional Norwegian knitwear.
